Case of Indian air base attack registered in Pakistan

The case was registered on the directives of Ministry of Interior after leads provided by the India in connection to the Pathankot attack.

According to Counter Terrorism Department, clauses of anti-terrorism act have been invoked in the case.

Gunmen attacked a key Indian air base near the Pakistan border on January 2 leaving at least 11 people dead.

Seven soldiers in all including a champion shooter and four attackers were killed at the Pathankot base in the northern state of Punjab, after heavily armed infiltrated the key station.

The attack came just a week after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a surprise visit to Pakistan, the first by an Indian premier in 11 years.
