CDWP approves highways projects worth Rs108bn

ISLAMABAD: Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved different projects of highways worth Rs108 billion along China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) routes.

The approval was given at a meeting in Islamabad on Friday with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal in chair.

The meeting referred these projects to the Executive Committee of National Economic Council for further approval.

These projects include a 106-kilometer long two-lane highway from Basima to Khuzdar, dualization of N-50 from Yarak to Zhob on the western route of CPEC and restoration of Karakoram Highway.

The meeting also approved construction of a Conference Hall at Prime Minister House and Private Clouds Data Center of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

It also approved construction of IB office along CPEC route and strengthening of early Warning System of Pakistan Met Department.
