ISLAMABAD: Central Development Working Party (CDWp) on Monday approved 34 projects worth 365.492 billion rupees; whereas 5 projects worth 333.179 billion rupees were referred to Executive Committee of National Economic Committee (ECNEC) for final approval.
Meeting of the Central Development Working Party held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad. The senior officials of federal and provincial governments as well as autonomous bodies were also present on this occasion.
The projects presented in the meeting for approval include energy, transport and communications, water resources, physical planning and housing, science and technology, governance, health and mass media.

Three projects of energy sector were presented in the meeting out of which a project to enhance the production capacity and control in the Enterprise Resource Planning System of National Transmission and Dispatch Company was approved.
In transportation and communication, project of residence of Islamabad Airport Security and widening of the road from Khanozai Cross to Loralai Qila Saifullah were approved.
Three projects of water resources were presented out of which a project of construction of a dyke to protect infrastructure from flood in Muzaffargarh and a project of coastal land preservation in Sindh and Balochistan were approved.
Four projects of physical planning and housing were presented in the meeting which were approved. Nine projects of science and technology were presented which were also approved in the meeting.
