Chief justice refuses to take suo moto notice against Justice Shaukat Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Sunday refused to take suo moto notice on Islamabad High Court Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s allegation that “certain institutions are meddling in judicial work”.

Saqib said injustice would not be done with anybody and justice would be served to Justice Siddiqui. This he said while hearing a plea requesting him to take suo moto notice of Shaukat Siddiqui’s remarks.

The chief justice told the petitioner that he could file petition in this regard if he wanted so, but he would not take suo moto notice on the issue.

“Notice has already been taken on this issue,” he added.

He assured the complainant that nothing wrong was happening against the country and by the grace of God, nothing wrong could happen until the potent judiciary existed.
