China says it plans phenomenal investments in fresh projects in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Consul-General Long Dingbin has said China planned phenomenal investments in fresh projects, broadening the area of inclusive cooperation and tapping new avenues of collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

“China would channelize maximum resources to strengthen economy of Pakistan,” he said in an interview to a local channel.

To a query, the consul-general explained that during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent visit to China, the scope of investment was widened by inking 15 new agreements.

Long Dingbin said the communique issued during the prime minister’s visit to China was a guideline to comprehend new dimensions of strategic partnership and friendship between both the countries.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan and China’s Joint International Air Drill ‘Shaheen VII’ has kicked-off, at an operational base of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Sunday.

According to details shared by PAF spokesperson, a Chinese Air Force contingent has arrived in Pakistan which includes pilots and air defense controllers.

Apart from technical crew, fighter, bomber and early warning AWACS airplanes of Chinese Air Force are taking part in the drill.

It is the seventh air exercise in the series of joint air drills with Chinese Air Force. Shaheen VI was held at a Chinese airbase last year, said PAF spokesperson.
