China’s vice premier to arrive in Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD: China’s Vice Premier Wang Yang will arrive in Islamabad today (Sunday) on a two-day visit.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson, the vice premier is undertaking the visit on the directions of President Xi Jinping as a special gesture to participate in the 70th Independence Anniversary Celebrations of Pakistan.

The special visit of Wang underscores the close brotherly and cooperative ties between Pakistan and China and Beijing’s strong political support for Islamabad.

During his visit, he will attend the flag-hoisting ceremony on 14th August as a special guest, and call on President Mamnoon Hussain.

He will also hold meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
