RAWALPINDI: In a fresh violation of Line of Control (LoC) ceasefire accord, Indian forces targeted a funeral procession in Chaffar village of Chirikot sector killing two Pakistani civilians, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Friday.
“Two civilians embraced martyrdom and a woman sustained gunshot injuries as result of unprovoked firing by Indian forces”, ISPR said.
Pakistan Army retaliated and an Indian soldier killed in an exchange of fire while four to five others wounded, the statement read.
It added that an Indian post was completely destroyed as result of retaliatory fire.
Earlier in month of October, Pakistan Army destroyed two Indian posts after a civilian was martyred and five other sustained bullet injuries by Indian unprovoked firing in the Rakhchikri sector.
Prior to that, on September 30, unprovoked firing across the LoC martyred a junior commissioned officer (JCO) and two civilians.
One civilian was killed and two wounded in the same sector on September 23.
Over the spate of firing incidents across the LoC, the foreign office then said that India has violated the ceasefire accord five times in the last 12 days, claiming lives of 11 people including five women.
