CJP seeks to remove hiccups to facilitate donors for dam fund

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has stressed the need to explore new possible avenues to remove hiccups and hindrances, if any, so as to facilitate donors, donating to Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams Fund.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar underlined this while chairing a meeting regarding publicity campaign of donations for the construction of dams, said a press release.

The meeting was attended by Governor, State Bank of Pakistan, Chairman, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), CEO Media Logic Company and Officers of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The meeting discussed the media strategy for publicity campaign in respect of donations made to Diamer Basha & Mohmand Dams fund.

The meeting was informed that donations were being received to State Bank of Pakistan from people of Pakistan as well as overseas Pakistanis through different modes i.e. banks, credit card / debit cards, wire transfer system, etc. via website of State Bank of Pakistan, which was fully secure.

The Media Logic Company gave a detailed presentation to the meeting to raise funds and to target expats for donations. For that purpose, services of digital websites will be hired to raise the funds for this cause.

The Fund has been established by the SBP on the directions of the Supreme Court. All the commercial and micro-finance banks, and field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation have opened the Fund account to receive donations in cash, and through cheques, pay orders and demand drafts at all their branches across the country.

The donors can also make online donations to the Fund through internet banking, automatic teller machines (ATM) and other alternate delivery channels (ADC) using IBAN of their respective bank. The banks have sent the IBANs of the Fund account to their clients through SMS alerts, while the bank-wise list of IBANs is also available at the SBP’s web page.
