CM Murad, Mayor Karachi vow to address rain-related problems

KARACHI: Mayor Waseem Akhtar on Saturday complained about the lack of coordination and support from local government bodies and other institutions, ARY News reported.

The mayor visited several parts of the city to inspect the conditions after the rains which continued to lash the city since yesterday. However, he vowed to continue working despite the lack of support and coordination.

“We will not think whose responsibility it is. Karachi is our city. Everyone should do their work and solve people’s problems,” he said while speaking to reporters.

He called people to be patient and persistent, as it was not an easy task to solve the myriad problems of Karachi. He also complained about the water-logged and submerged streets of Karachi but admitted the city has received unusual amounts of rainfall.
