ISLAMABAD: The condition to bring CNIC for buying the subsidized items at Utility stores withdrawn on Tuesday, ARY News reported citing sources.

As per details, the decision to withdraw this condition was made to facilitate the citizens and make it convenient for them to avail of the government-subsidized package. 

However, this decision does not apply to buying flour, sugar, and ghee from utility stores.

Earlier, the government launched a Ramazan Relief Package worth Rs 5 billion at utility stores across the country to provide maximum relief to the poor segment of society during the holy month.

In order to facilitate the public, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif had extended the scope of the relief package by increasing the number of subsidized items to 19.

The items to be provided at subsidized rates include flour, ghee, sugar, cooking oil, tea, dates, besan, dal mash, dal mong, milk, drinks, and spices.
