Confusion still persists over Iqbal Day holiday

PSA leader Sharf-uz-Zaman urged parents not to send their children to schools on Monday.

On the other hand, secretary education Sindh has said there was no public holiday on Nov 9, hence all educational institutions will remain open.

Meanwhile, The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced public holiday on November 9 on account of Iqbal Day

The decision was made upon directives by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

In a statement, Khan said Iqbal Day is not a routine day and it holds vital significance for Pakistan.

“Iqbal’s writings and his thoughts served as the basis of Pakistan and it is mandatory for the future generations to not just remember Allama Iqbal, but to act upon his message so that the Ideology of Pakistan could be further enlightened,” said the PTI chief.
