ISLAMABAD: Declaring the performance of Finance Asad Umar tremendous, Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Thursday said that conspiracies are being hatched against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and its finance minister.
Talking to journalists, Sheikh Rasheed said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will decide about the change in the federal cabinet and added that he will met with the PM on Monday to discuss all the issues.
The minister maintained that Pakistan Railways (PR) did not increase fares of all the trains and clarified that the 12 per cent increase is applicable for only few trains.
He said that that PR will launch Rehman Baba train on December 23rd to facilitate the commuters. Sheikh Rasheed lashed out at the former government over bad planning and said PR is facing loses due to the inactive locomotive purchased in the era of former rulers.

Is is pertinent to mention here that the Federal Minister for Finance Asad Umar, on December 5, had said that he had no knowledge pertaining to the news of his expected removal from the finance portfolio by the government.
A rumor doing rounds on social media and taken up as news by a a section of media said that the government is likely to replace Asad Umar with former State Bank governor Shamshad Akhtar over his ‘unsatisfactory performance’.
Talking to a media outlet, Asad Umar elucidated, “being the finance minister, I am still chairing a session and have no information regarding the news of my expected removal from the post.”
