Court acquits Sharifs from illegal assets reference

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif along with Kulsoom Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shahbaz, were acquitted by a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court from corruption charges with regard to Raiwind Palace, Hudaibya Paper Mills and possession of illegal assets.

The judge termed the charges against Sharifs as politically motivated and said the cases had been pending for 14 years and not a single witness had appeared in court.
