Court extends Gillani’s bail in TDAP corruption case

The court issued arrest warrants of former minister of commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim in Trade and Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) scandal.

It is alleged that several billion rupees were transferred into the accounts of Yusuf Raza Gilani and Amin Fahim by forming fake companies and the TDAP was made to suffer loss of billion of rupees through subsidies from the government.

The FIA had booked PPP leaders Gilani and Makhdoom Amin Fahim as well as

some TDAP officials for their alleged involvement in the approval and disbursement of fraudulent trade subsidies worth billions of rupees to several fake companies through fictitious claims and backdated cheques during the previous tenure of the PPP government.

Yousuf Raza Gillani after the court hearing talking to media congratulated Ayaz Sadiq for his success in Lahore by-election.

He said the success of an independant candidate in Okara’s NA-144 by-poll has been a no-confidence vote against political parties.
