Court grants five days’ bail extension to Zulfikar Mirza

The lawyers of Zulfikar Mirza had pleaded with the SHC that the ex-home minister is on protective bail in a case registered against him by Darakshan police for harassing policemen. They stated that Mirza seeks to appear before the trial court, however government measures indicate that he will be arrested and killed subsequently.

The lawyers moved the court to extend Mirza’s protective bail.

Meanwhile, as soon as Zulfikar Mirza reached the SHC, police arrested his bodyguards and subjected everyone present there to brutal torture including media men.

At this the court sought CCTV footage of the premises and report on police torture from the registrar office.
