KARACHI: Pakistani cricketers have recorded their video messages for the nation ahead of the General Elections 2018 to vote for a better Pakistan.
Former skipper Wasim Akram and all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez solicited masses to vote for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
“We have tested numerous politicians, but it is time for change now. So, I would like to request all to vote for Imran Khan,” Wasim said.
“It was in your leadership skipper Imran Khan that we became world champions in 1992. It is in your leadership that we can again become a great democratic country.
“A cricketer who became a politician or a man who was born to serve this nation, protect our people and lead us in to our own. And one day they will say, that this same man was once a phenomenal cricketer. The time is now for change. Our country, our history.”
Abdul Hafeez wished the PTI chief all the best.
Marathoner batsman Younis Khan vowed to indorse Muttahida Majlis –e- Amal.
Younis expressed hope that MMA candidate Mohammad Hanif Khan Ghori for NA-239 will bring change in different areas of Malir and Shah Faisal Colony.
Current skipper Pakistan team Sarfaraz Ahmed said everybody had the right to cast vote and “I would like to request all Pakistanis to go out and vote for whoever you think is a better candidate.”
Former captain Shahid Afridi wrote on his Twitter account that, “My sincere wish is that we get a leader who works in the interest of this country and its people, who will take his people into confidence and would trust them. All the best for #GE2018 as #PakistanVotes tomorrow. Whoever comes into Power, May that be the best for our country.”
Fiery batsman Umer Akmal pleaded all to utilise their votes for the betterment of Pakistan.
While, Afridi’s two cute daughters have extended their support for PTI.
