Customs foils smuggling bid in Quetta

QUETTA: The Customs officials have foiled a smuggling bid worth Rs 110 million at Quetta-Karachi highway, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

As per details, the custom officials conducted a raid near a check post on Quetta Karachi highway and recovered heroin worth Rs 110 million from a car.

The raid was conducted on intelligence based information, the driver of the car fled the incident spot. Meanwhile, the police have registered an FIR against unknown drug smugglers.

Earlier, the customs officials foiled the bid to smuggle Saudi currency at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

As per Customs Collector Karachi Airport, Nadeem Memon, a passenger named Gul Hassan was traveling to Saudi Arabia with 100,000 Saudi Riyals.

The currency was concealed in the bag he was carrying.
