ISLAMABAD: A decision has been taken to transfer the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) from Karachi to Islamabad, ARY News reported.

The CAA and PAA headquarters will be shifted from Karachi Airport to Islamabad Airport. Meanwhile, a temporary headquarters will be constructed at the Islamabad airport for the immediate transfer of both key organizations.

A seven-member committee, comprising officers from the PAA and CAA, has been set up to oversee the transfer. Deputy Director General of the Airports Authority, Sadiq Rehman, has been appointed as the chief of the joint committee, which will determine the location for the construction of the temporary headquarters.

The CAA has been directed to shift to the temporary headquarters by November, while the PAA has been directed to complete its transfer by December.

Currently, both organizations have their headquarters in Karachi. However, all regional offices of both organizations will continue to function across the country as usual.
