Doctors recommend cycle exercise to Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE: A two-member panel of doctors of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) after examining former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday recommended him cycle exercise, ARY News reported.

As per details, two specialist cardiologists Dr Nadeem Malik and Dr Saqib Shafiq examined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo at the Kot Lakhpat jail and recommended him cycle exercise owing to his health issue.

Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar after doctors’ recommendation has ordered the concerned authorities to provide an exercise cycle machine to the former prime minister.

Punjab chief minister spokesman Shahbaz Gill in his statement said the panel of the doctors examined the former premier and advised him to do cycle exercise.

Moreover, a health unit has been set up at the jail. Three cardiologists and technicians remain present in the unit round the clock.

Last week, Prime Minister Imran Khan had ordered the chief minister Punjab to ensure availability of ‘every health facility’ in the country to get Nawaz Sharif ‘treatment of his choice’.

PM Khan assured of any assistance on part of the federal government that may be required to Sharif.

In a tweet, the prime minister wrote: “I have asked the Punjab CM to ensure that every health facility in the country is made available for Nawaz Sharif to get the treatment of his choice. The federal govt will assist wherever required. I wish him good health.”
