“Nawaz Sharif has complaint of cardio pain on daily basis,” it said adding that barring the doctor from meeting him would amount to denying basic rights to him.

On March 20, Information Minister Punjab, Samsam Bukhari, had said the government never stopped family of Nawaz Sharif from meeting him in jail.

Bukhari had said the manual of jail was strictly being implemented.

He had said Nawaz Sharif was trying to pressurise the government to move out of country. “In the last two weeks, Sharif met his numerous friends and as well as the family members,” the minister had said.

He, however, had added that the permission to go abroad could only be given by the court.
