Dr Mohammad Faisal appointed as new Foreign Office spokesperson

ISLAMABAD: Director General (DG) for South Asia and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Dr Faisal has been assumed charge as new spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dr Faisal’s appointment has come at a time when Nafees Zakaria – who was holding the office – has been appointed as Pakistan’s new High Commissioner to Malaysia.

In a press briefing at the Foreign Office earlier today, Zakaria announced Dr Faisal as the new spokesperson.

It merits mentioning here that Zakaria had assumed charge as the Foreign Office spokesperson on January 4, 2016, bringing with him several years of diplomatic experience after working in Pakistan’s missions in Indonesia, UAE, and Thailand along with number of other countries.

Moreover, he had also served as DG South Asia and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation in the past.
