Arsalan had filed a plea with the ECP to obtain copies of Imran’s nomination papers. The ECP is of the view that nomination papers are public documents, while Imran’s documents are also available on the ECP website.
Imran had filed nomination papers from four different constituencies, however the PTI chief retained NA-56 (Rawalpindi).
Sources in the ECP told that Imran had stated in his statement that fulfilled the conditions under articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
Arsalan is of the view that Imran had leveled false allegations against him and he subsequently decided to take legal action in the form of filing disqualification reference against the PTI chief.
