Karachi transporters were fined for overcharging passengers traveling to their nativekots for Eidul Fitr celebrations, ARY News reported on Friday.
As per details, the district secretary of regional transport, deputy commissioner and motorway police during checking of the passenger buses slapped a fine of over Rs55,000 for overcharging and passengers were returned the excessive money they paid to the transporter during the action.
The masses appreciated the timely action of the authorities in providing relief to them on Eidul Fitr.

On Thursday evening, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced that the Shawwal moon had not been sighted in Pakistan, hence Eidul Fitr would fall on Saturday, April 22.
The committee’s chairman, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, made the announcement while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee had convened the meeting to sight the Shawwal in Islamabad, whereas zonal bodies of the committee also met in Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Lahore.
