SRINAGAR: Eight Indian police officials were killed and 20 were injured in an attack in Jammu & Kashmir state on Saturday, a police spokesman said.
Two men attacked a convoy of India’s Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on a highway near the Pampore town, 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the state capital Srinagar.
In May, three Indian policemen were killed at point-blank range.
India has stationed huge troops in the valley and is engaged in several human rights abuses to suppress the indigenous freedom movement in the Muslim majority region.
