MOHMAND AGENCY: As many as eight members of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a banned militant outfit, surrendered before Pakistan Army in Mohmand Agency on Tuesday, ARY News reported.
The media wing of Pakistan military forces, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that eight members of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar laid their arms to shun militancy.
“Akbar, Gul, Siraj and five other accomplices are among those who surrendered. They belonged to Wali Rehman group of the organisation,” said the statement.

The surrenderers said they were misled by anti-state elements who incited them to carry out attacks within the country.
“Our inner soul does not permit us to carry out terrorism anymore. Such an act is also against the teachings of our religion,” they said.
According to ISPR more terrorists were likely to surrender themselves to the law enforcement agencies.
Jamaat-ul-Ahrar is an offshoot organisation of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. It has claimed several terrorist attacks in Pakistan, including a suicide bombing outside the Punjab Assembly in Lahore.
