Eight terrorists killed in DG Khan operation

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) gunned down eight terrorists, affiliated with a banned organization, in a gunbattle in Dera Ghazi Khan, ARY News reported on Friday.

An exchange of fire took place between the CTD personnel and armed men during a combing operation in Tonmi area in the vicinity of D.G. Khan, officials said. The shootout resulted in death of eight terrorists.

Three of the attackers managed to escape from the scene by taking advantage of the darkness, sources said. The law enforcement personnel have launched a search operation for arrest of the fleeing militants.

Police sources said that the slain terrorists were planning to attack sensitive buildings and installations in the district.

Weapons and hand grenades were also recovered from the slain terrorists.
