Irfanullah Marwat of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had won the seat in general elections last year. Abdur Rauf Siddiqui of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) who was the runner-up in the poll had challenged the election results.
The election tribunal deciding the petition on election results declared the election in PS-114 Karachi as invalid and ordered for re-election in the constituency.
