LAHORE: Jinnah Hospital Lahore Medical Superintendent Dr Asim Hameed on Monday said he could not share medical reports of deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif with anyone, ARY News reported.
Talking to media, Dr Asim said all the facilities were being provided to Nawaz in the hospital on directive of the Punjab government.
He said they were conducting different tests of Nawaz Sharif and the medical board would decide next course of action after viewing old medical reports.
Dr Asim Hameed said reports of electrocardiograph (ECG), echocardiogram (echo) and other tests had been received on Sunday.
He said the medical test reports of the ex-PM had been dispatched to the Ministry of Interior. He said the government had the right to shift Nawaz Sharif.
The MS Jinnah Hospital further said since the former PM’s personal doctor Adnan was not a government employee, therefore he could not be included in the medical board.
PML-N leaders Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz visited former premier Nawaz Sharif at Jinnah Hospital on Saturday.
The daughter of incarcerated ex-premier, Maryam expressed concerns over shifting his father to Jinnah Hospital instead of taking him to Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) against recommendations of the medical board, she asserted while talking to reporters.
The detained supremo of the PML-N, was shifted to Jinnah Hospital of Lahore on Friday owing to his illness, after the government of Punjab on Thursday issued a notification to shift Nawaz Sharif to the hospital from Kot Lakhpat jail.
Sharif had expressed discomfort over facilities being provided in the VVIP block of the hospital. Foolproof security measures were taken to ensure Nawaz’s safe stay in the hospital, beside the setup of a private room.
