These celebrities will be awarded on 79th Pakistan Day

The Government of Pakistan has issued a list of 127 people for the civil awards that will be presented by President Dr. Arif Alvi for their excellence in different fields in a ceremony on the occasion of Pakistan day on 23rd March.

The list which is usually announced on the Independence day has been announced just two weeks before Pakistan day by the cabinet secretariat because of the absence of any government on 14th August 2018.

This year, the prominent celebrities to receive Civil Awards range from philanthropists and sportsmen to actors, singers, and television anchors.

Renown businessman and philanthropist, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi will be getting a Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his unconditional and excessive work for humanity from advocating women empowerment to serving as a trustee in many welfare organizations.

Our favorite cricketing superstars, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis will receive Hilal-i-Imtiaz for their flamboyant cricketing skills and for transferring those skills to their juniors for the love of Pakistan. The former is currently the president of Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) Karachi Kings.

Known for his enchanting voice and adroit pitch, the maestro Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi will be awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz along with the surreal Sajjad Ali who had enthralled the worldwide audience with upbeat songs like Babia and Cinderella. Veteran actress Babra Sharif will also get the same accolade for her commendable acting capabilities.

President Alvi will present Pride of Performance awards to the immensely talented and senior actors like Reema Khan, Shabbir Jan and comedian Iftikhar Thakur along with one of the most objective and credible journalists of this era, Arshad Sharif, who has been winning hearts with his brave and non-partisan reporting and anchoring.

Our very own, Mehwish Hayat is all set to receive the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for her euphoric persona, captivating acting, magical voice and ebullient sashay on the ramp. The diva is famous for her surreal performance in Punjab Nahi Jaungi and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani amongst others.

Last year, legends like Junaid Jamshed, Asma Jahangir, Amjad Sabri, Misbah Ul Haq, Younus Khan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shahid Afridi, Khalid Anum and Qaiser Nizamani were awarded these awards amongst others.
