KARACHI: Sources on Friday said the management of Darul Sehat hospital was pressurising Nishwa’s father for a compromise on administration of wrong injection to her daughter, ARY News reported.

Nishwa was brought to Dar ul Sehat hospital last week where an overdose of Potassium Chloride had severely affected her brain, leaving her nearly brain-dead.

She is currently under treatment at Karachi’s Liaquat National Hospital.

Sources said Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan leader and owner of Darul Sehat hospital Amir Waliuddin Chishti along with another political personality arrived at Liaquat National Hospital along with the hospital management to meet father of Nishwa.

Sources said Amir Chishti is ready to pay a hefty amount in damages to the victim’s father so that the cases against hospital can possibly be withdrawn.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that doctors of Liaquat National Hospital, expressing lack of hope in child’s case, have asked the parents to ‘pray’ as Nishwa’s condition remains critical despite several days of remedy.

On April 18, an inquiry committee, constituted by the Sindh Health Department, to probe the Nishwa’s incident had sent its report to the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Sources said that the inquiry committee had held the hospital, doctors and staff responsible for the deteriorated condition of Nashwa.

The committee had suggested that the Healthcare Commission should take action against the hospital over administering wrong injection to the infant, the sources said and added that the committee cited in its report that the minor girl was administered extra doze.
