FM Qureshi to depart for China today

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will depart for China after completing his three-day official visit to Japan today, ARY News reported Wednesday.

Qureshi is visiting China on invitation of his Chinese counterpart. He will hold a meeting with top Chinese officials tomorrow.

The meeting will discuss bilateral ties and the overall regional situation.

Earlier, Qureshi on Tuesday met with his Japanese counterpart, Taro Kono in Tokyo and exchanged views on bilateral relations, promotion of cooperation in various fields and resolved to continue joint efforts for peace and stability in the region.

During the meeting, Shah Mehmood Qureshi briefed his Japanese counterpart on regional situation and thanked Taro Kono for inviting him in his country.

Taro Kono appreciated the efforts of Pakistan for regional peace and stability.

Pakistan and Japan also agreed to further bolster their bilateral ties on leadership as well as masses level.

It may be noted here that Prime Minister Imran Khan will depart to Beijing on April 27 and he would be accompanied by cabinet members.

During the visit, PM Imran Khan will attend an event of the Belt and Road Initiative also known as ‘One Belt One Road Initiative’ which would be participated by heads and representatives of more than 100 countries, sources added.
