Gang of police impersonators arrested in Quetta

QUETTA: Police in Quetta claimed to have arrested a group of dacoits involving in robbing houses disguising as law enforcement officers.

The arrested gang used to impersonate themselves as officers of Frontier Corps and those of the police department.

“The gang had been robbing houses in the Kuchlak area in Quetta city wearing police and FC uniforms,” said Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Deputy Inspector General of Police Quetta, at a presser.

The DIG said the gang used to don outfit of law enforces and appearing at the targeted house whose owners and residents would open their doors promptly and the gang would swoop in to loot household items, ornaments and other valuables.

He said an ambulance was used to carry arms and uniforms for the gang members who after robbing would transfer all the looted valuables into the vehicle.

It may be noted here that the police in Karachi had busted a gang of pseudo policemen and arrested three of its member, who were involved in looting the passengers coming from the city’s airport.

A team of the central zone police in its action in the area of Ajmeer Nagri, apprehended three of the suspects, wanted in many lawbreaking activities in the metropolis.

Briefing the media about the action, Senior Superintendent of Police Central Arif Rao said, the gang was involved in looting the masses by presenting themselves as policemen.
