Hearing of Nawaz Sharif’s bail plea to be held on April 9

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hold hearing on the acquittal petition filed by deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif in corruption reference on April 9, ARY News reported.

The court said in a two-page order signed by Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar on Saturday.

The order read that under the January 21 order the court had obtained all the records.

The IHC has directed its registrar office to prepare paper book of all the records. Upon which, the registrar office said the paper book was being prepared on court’s order.

During the hearing on February 20, Sharif’s counsel Khawaja Haris had said his client’s medical treatment was not possible at Jinnah Hospital Lahore and he should be shifted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).

The high court had inquired about the health of the ex-PM and ordered a representative of the Punjab government to apprise the court in this regard in a short while.

A representative doctor of the medical board, constituted to monitor Nawaz Sharif’s health condition and examine his medical reports, had relayed that some of the patient’s test reports were being awaited.

He said the patient was shifted to the hospital on February 15.

The doctor had said Nawaz Sharif was not facing any imminent danger according to his test reports and health condition.

He had said Jinnah Hospital had every facility of treatment and if the authorities wanted his treatment in the same hospital, they were ready to do that.

Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi was representing the National Accountability Bureau in the court on this occasion.
