ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to review quarterly performance of ministries and issued directives to compile reports within 14 days, ARY News reported on Friday.
Ministries have been given two weeks to finalise its quarterly performance reports to be reviewed by the PM Khan during an upcoming session, sources said.
Sources added that performance of the ministries will be reviewed on the basis of targets presented in the cabinet in November 2018.
The letters were dispatched to the ministries by the PM Office in this regards.
Each ministry would be given 30 minutes to present its performance report before starting a question session. PM Office stated that the review sessions for scrutinising the performance of the ministries play an important role to ensure progress of an effective government.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had directed the ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to set up a cell to monitor the performance of ministers and government officers on January 30.
A monitoring cell headed by PTI General Secretary Arshad Dad would be formed to address the problems of general public and to keep an eye on the performance of ministers and the government officers, the sources said.
PTI leader Arshad Dad said that the purpose behind the monitoring cell was to improve the performance of ministers and the public officers. He said that the cell would convey public complaints to the prime minister and help resolve their difficulties.
On December 10, a special session of the cabinet had been summoned by the premier to review the performance of federal ministers on an individual level.
Sources informed that unsatisfactory performance of ministers may lead to changing of their portfolios.
All ministries and divisions will brief the premier on their progress followed by a question answer session of 10-15 minutes, sources added.
