India refuses to issue visas to Pakistani shooters

NEW DELHI: In a recent move of Pakistan enmity, Indian authorities have denied issuing visa to the Pakistani shooters to participate in the International Shooting World Cup, ARY News reported on Thursday.

A two-member Pakistani contingent was scheduled to arrive in Delhi to participate in the event, but India denied issuing them visa.

On the other hand, the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) has warned India of severe consequences as a host country for future international competitions’ since it failed to provide visas to Pakistan shooters.

According to media reports, India can face reduction in its Olympics quota over denial of issuance of visa to Pakistani shooters.

International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), in a statement, said that it is taking all possible measures to ensure Pakistan’s participation in the world cup.

“ISSF World Cup in New Delhi faces an urgent situation as Pakistani athletes cannot get entry visas to participate in the competition, due to the terrorist attacks happened last days in India. The ISSF and the Organizing Committee of the competition are taking all efforts to solve the situation to avoid the discrimination of the Pakistani team. Besides that, the ISSF and the Organizing Committee are discussing the possible consequences for India as a host country for future international competitions, in all sports,” reads a statement issued by ISSF.

Indian government and politicians have been blaming Pakistan after the February 14 Pulwama attack and have been taking some stupid measures in their bid to “isolate Pakistan”.

Indian extremists on Wednesday killed a Pakistani prisoner in Indian city of Jaipur to take revenge of the Pulwama attack.

Pakistani inmate identified as Shakoorul Allah was subjected to severe tortured in an attack in the prison of Rajasthan’s capital city of Jaipur by other inmates, which led to his death on the spot.
