The Sindh government on Thursday after a high-level meeting in Chief Minister House, decided to demolish all the MQM offices across the province, which have been established on public properties and amenity plots.

Overnight, a sector office located in the Allah Rakha Park in Kharadar was razed down. A huge contingent of Police and Rangers forces was deployed in the area. The operation was conducted by Rangers officer named Thakur, who received overnight recognition after he shoved and arrested MQM leader Farooq Sattar outside the Karachi Press Club on Monday evening as he came to address a press conference.

Security officers have also vacated a MQM unit office located at the University of Karachi, and converted it into a security checkpoint. They received full cooperation from security officers who also removed wall-chalking from the premises of the university.

The move came as the government seeks to intensify its crackdown on the MQM after its chief raised anti-Pakistan slogans during a telephonic address and provoked workers to attack several police vehicles and media houses creating chaos and anarchy in the city.

More than 196 party offices allegedly set up on parks and amenity plots have already been sealed or demolished across the province whereas posters of the MQM chief have also been removed from public places in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.
