KP CM inaugurates Dargai industrial economic zone

MALAKAND: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Sunday Dargai industrial economic zone during his visit to Malakand district, ARY News reported.

CM Khan said that the government has set focus on the promotion of petroleum and industrial sectors.

The inauguration event was attended by a large number of people and high-level officials.

Mahmood Khan said that local residents would be given employment in different industrial zones set up in different parts of the province.

While unveiling his future plans, the chief minister announced that the provincial government would soon start development work on Rashakai zone, a small town located along the Nowshera-Mardan road.

He was of the view that a significant fall will be witnessed in crime rate after provision of employment to the nationals. He announced that investments will be made on the nation following the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The chief minister blamed corruption for rusting the governance system which causes severe economic crises in the country. He added that the courageous steps which have been taken under the leadership of the PM Imran Khan will benefit the national economy.

On February 4, a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had directed the power and petroleum divisions to provide gas and power connections to special economic zones within one month.

The meeting of the ECC chaired by Minister of Finance Asad Umar discussed a two-point agenda in its session.

An official of the Board of Investment given a briefing on the Economic Zones to the cabinet committee.

The meeting directed the federal government’s power and petroleum division to submit a report on the requirement of gas and electricity to the ECC within one month.
