Newly-appointed DG Rangers Punjab calls on CM Buzdar

LAHORE: Newly-appointed Director General Rangers Punjab Major General Saqib Mahmood Malik on Thursday called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office in Lahore.

The chief minister congratulated Major General Saqib Mahmood on assuming the new assignment and extended good wishes to him. He presented a gift of traditional stick of DG Khan to him. Saqib was given the charge on October 3.

He appreciated the services rendered by rangers in the whole country, especially in Karachi, and said that their services for protection of borders were invaluable.

The Punjab CM said the nation was proud of bravery of rangers and there was no doubt that the paramilitary force had always played the role of a vanguard for maintaining peace.

”In fact, the rangers’ officers and solders are our national pride as they are rendering invaluable services for protection of country’s boundaries,” he said.

He reiterated that unique successes of Pakistan’s security forces in the war against terrorism were an ineffaceable mark on the world history as no other country had given such immortal sacrifices. He said, “The brave sons of soil have written a new history with their blood and as a result Pakistan has become a peaceful country today.”
