MIANWALI: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) trainer jet FT-7 has crashed near Punjab’s Mianwali district and two pilots lost their lives in the incident, confirmed PAF spokesperson on Tuesday.

The PAF trainer FT-7 was crashed during a routine operational training mission near the Mianwali district where two pilots including Squadron Leader Haris Bin Khalid and Flying Officer Ibadur Rehman were martyred.

The air headquarters constituted a high-level board to ascertain the reason behind the incident.

Earlier in the day, a plane was reportedly crashed near Chah Miana, located in the suburbs of Punjab’s Mianwali district, police sources told ARY News on Tuesday morning.

Rescue teams have immediately rushed at the incident’s site and commenced rescue activities.

Earlier in January last year, a Pakistan Air Force pilot had been martyred when his training aircraft crashed near Mastung, Balochistan, reported ARY News.

PAF spokesperson had confirmed that the pilot flying the aircraft was martyred in the incident. “PAF’s F-7PG aircraft was on a routine training missing when it crashed.”
