ISLAMABAD: The micro-blogging website, Twitter has suspended the account of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Punjab Chief Minister’s spokesperson Shahbaz Gill, ARY News reported on Monday.

It is not clear on what reasons the account was banned.

However, Shahbaz Gill claimed that the suspension of the account was made over complaint of Maryam Nawaz, the leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).

The Punjab CM’s spokesperson said that he has informed Twitter administration regarding his responsibility to share details of the jailed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Gill claimed that Maryam Nawaz has complained to the Twitter administration over sharing health-related details of her father Nawaz Sharif.

In his video message, Shahbaz Gill said that PML-N has complained again before the Twitter administration for sharing details of its supremo Nawaz Sharif.

He raised objections over the move, saying it was the government’s responsibility to provide health-related updates of the inmate if he was suffering from an ailment in order to aware the nationals.

Gill added that he had not publicised any of the medical reports [of Nawaz Sharif] but only portioned up his [Nawaz Sharif] well-being and opinion of doctors as it was a responsibility to him as a government’s representative.

The official said that the development will change nothing whether suspension of a Twitter account or submission of any resolution against him and he would do any task given to him by the top leadership.

“The person seems very saddened heart who lodges the complain but I will fulfil my responsibility given by my leadership,” Gill said.

On February 19, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal’s personal Twitter account had been suspended over exposing Indian atrocities and grave human rights violation in occupied Kashmir.

Dr Mohammad Faisal was also using his personal account to keep the world update about Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague.
