A 23-year-old woman in the US, who claimed she was Harry Potter, has been arrested in a hit-and-run case.

According to reports, Natasia Snape (ya that’s her surname) had been driving ‘erratically’ through Boca Raton in Florida’s Palm Beach on the morning of 9 April.

Boca Raton Police said her car mounted the sidewalk and hit a 75-year-old Judge named Sandra Sandra Feuerstein. Unfortunately, the judge was pronounced dead when she was taken to Delray Medical Center.

The 23-year-old also reportedly hit a six-year-old boy who was crossing the road. It didn’t end there. According to the police, Snape fled in her car before crashing just a few kilometres from Delray Beach.

Following the incident, she was found in an unconscious state in her car. When she regained consciousness, she apparently ‘began to scream’ and fight with ambulance medics, stating she was ‘Harry Potter’.

When cops searched for her ID, they found small containers labelled ‘THC cannabis’ and a synthetic drug known in her bag, according to a report by the local media.

Snape was charged with vehicular homicide and other felonies and remained jailed on Sunday. The boy she struck was treated at a hospital and has since been released.

The US Attorney’s Office for the East District of New York offered condolences to Feuerstein’s family.

“As we mourn her tragic death, we also remember Judge Feuerstein’s unwavering commitment to justice and service to the people of our district and our nation,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Mark J. Lesko.
