Father beaten in IOK, toddler ‘pepper sprayed’: Mirwaiz
KARACHI: Chairman Hurriyat Forum Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday disclosed that a toddler was “pepper sprayed” and his father was beaten in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK), ARY News reported.
“8 month old toddler pepper sprayed, her father Mudassir mercilessly beaten when he intervened as police ransack their home yesterday without any provocation and target the family of slain Rayees sofi of Fateh Kadal!” said Farooq.
Expressing resentment over the incident, he said such incidents incited youth to retaliate violently. “Such incidents of pre planned harassment and repression of civilians show their is a deliberate ploy to incite youth further and push them to retaliate violently.”
Earlier, on Jan 29, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had a telephonic conversation with Farooq where he informed him about Pakistan’s efforts to effectively highlight the Kashmir issue at all international forums, exposing Indian brutalities in IOK.
He also informed him about the upcoming events being organised in London at the House of Commons and the exhibition being held in London on Feb 4 and 5 regarding Kashmir.
Qureshi emphasised that India should permit the inquiry commission’s visit as envisaged in both reports.
Farooq had greatly appreciated the efforts of the Government of Pakistan and emphasized that Indian atrocities shall never be able to suppress the will of Kashmiris. “People of Occupied Kashmir will continue to raise their voice against severe Indian repression and Indian black laws.”
