Exclusive: Hadiqa Kiani rubbishes media reports regarding her arrest in London

LAHORE: Singer Hadiqa Kiani on Tuesday rubbished a report published on a British news website regarding her arrest on London’s Heathrow airport, ARY News reported.

Talking exclusively to ARY News, the singer clarified that she is in Lahore celebrating her nephew’s birthday and doesn’t know who actually has been arrested in London.

“When I first heard this news, I just laughed it off but then the calls started coming from everywhere and I had to take it seriously,” said Hadiqa.

Earlier, she also posted a picture with her f

amily members on both her social media accounts. “I am not in London nor do I have plans to go to London. And I dare any of you to associate drugs with my name…I am so disgusted right now! Just disgusted by this FAKE NEWS of me spreading online by so called established news medias. Just shocked,” wrote Hadiqa.

But some social media users were adamant that she has been arrested and media must talk to her directly, so ARY News reached her house to help her debunk all rumours. The singer also thanked ARY News for the effort.

The British news website Metro-UK reported that the singer was arrested at London’s Heathrow airport with at least 2 kilogram of cocaine. The site quoted customs and border protection officers and maintained the cocaine was recovered from a plastic coffee bag.
