Faisal Subzwari decries ‘pre-poll rigging’

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Faisal Subzwari on Wednesday said there is one law for Karachi and the other for the rest of the country.

Speaking to media, he complained that his party’s banners and posters put up in the city were being removed.

Mr. Subzwari said his party candidate Jawed Hanif was lately arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) despite the fact that it said it won’t arrest politicians until the polls.

He demanded of the NAB chairman to immediately release the MQM-P candidate.

He further said the provincial government should not become “PPP-2”. He said they have been a victim of pre-polling rigging in the shape of population census and subsequent fresh delimitation in the metropolis.

The MQM-P leader said certain political parties considered his party a “dead cow.” The PPP plundered Rs1.5 billion, nevertheless cases against it were quashed, he said.

It is important to note here that lately, another MQM-P leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan claimed that certain people cherished to damage the party. Propaganda is going on against the party, he said and added this should stop now as they have given most sacrifices.
