3 family members wounded for resisting robbery in North Karachi

KARACHI: Three members of a family were wounded when armed robbers opened fire on them for trying to resist a robbery bid at a house in North Karachi area in wee hours on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

According to police, the injured included a couple – Naveed and his wife Kiran – and their two-year-old son. They have been moved to a hospital for medical attention.

A police official said two robbers opened fire on the family members after they put up resistance during the robbery bid.

Upon being informed about the incident, a police team reached the crime scene and began collecting evidence.

Earlier, on March 26, a shopkeeper was shot dead in the New Karachi area after he put up resistance during a robbery bid.

Police said two men on a motorcycle  stormed a shop at Bashir Chowk in Sector 5F of the New Karachi Industrial Area and shot a shopkeeper after he resisted their robbery attempt.

The assailants managed to escape the scene. The injured man was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
