During the outing, the veteran mentioned that acting happened by chance for her when she accompanied her sister, Madeeha Gohar to her drama shoot. “I was a part of that drama as a ‘hand’ of Madeeha, which means, instead of her hand, it was mine which featured in that show,” she told the host.

“I don’t remember the name of that project as there were no dialogues, nor I was bothered about it,” she added.

Gohar also

recalled the taboos which followed when her sister and she stepped into the industry. “There was this stigma attached that girls from good families don’t opt for this profession, or respectable people don’t go to these places like TV studios, and it is still the same in today’s time. It is still stigmatised and women [in this profession] are still looked down upon,” she shared.

It is pertinent to mention here that Faryal Gohar graduated in political economy from McGill University, Canada and also attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles to study film documentary, before making her showbiz debut in ‘Band Gali’ on PTV.
