CHILAS: At least two people were killed and six others injured as a jeep they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Gilgit–Baltistan’s Chilas city on Sunday, ARY News reported.
According to police, the car was heading to Skardu it skidded off the road and fell into a deep ravine in Raikot, leaving the two family members dead.
The deceased were father and daughter.
Upon receiving the information, rescue teams and police reached the spot and shifted the injured and the bodies to Regional Headquarters Hospital Gilgit-RHQ.
Earlier in February this year, at least 25 people had been killed and several others sustained injuries when a passenger bus collided head-on with a car on Karakoram highway near Kohistan Shatial Chowki in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Chilas city.
According to details, the passenger bus – carrying 45 passengers – and the car fell into a ravine after colliding near Karakoram highway near Kohistan Shatial Chowki. The collision resulted in the death of at least 25 passengers.
