Fawad Chaudhry lauds Bilawal’s APC stance

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry lauded on Friday Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s stance on the suggestion of using religion card against Prime Minister Imran Khan during the recently held all parties conference of opposition parties.

He said in a tweet that the maulvis who issue fatwas (religious decrees) are the biggest threat to Pakistan.

“All schools of thought should take up a jihad against this attitude. These pseudo religious scholars are the cause of 75 per cent of the country’s ills,” he said.

Sharing a clip from a private TV channel’s talk show on the APC, the minister said: “Bilawal deserves praise over his stance.”

At the APC, the PPP chairman had reportedly rejected Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s proposal to use religion card against Prime Minister Imran Khan part of the conference’s declaration. He vowed not to let anyone use religion card against rivals.
