Ever since Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan has crossed borders and went to India, he has received quite the attention as well as a multitude of awards. After an impressive showing opposite fashionista Sonam Kapoor in Khoobsurat, Fawad has bagged key roles alongside veteran Bollywood actors and newcomers Rishi Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra.
According to rumors, My Punjabi Nikaah is a romantic-comedy movie based on My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and Fawad Khan will be seen assuming the lead part in the film. The film should start in the year 2005 with Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, however did not appear then.
Fawad recently scooped the number three position in Times 50 Most Desirable Men 2014, beating the likes of Ranbir Kapoor,
Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar. After enchanting Pakistani audiences through his boyish good looks and stellar acting skills, it seems like the lad from Pakistan will certainly be the next big Khan of Bollywood.
A couple of days ago, it had been confirmed that the actor would star again with Bollywood beauty Sonam Kapoor in an all new movie Battle for Bhittora. According to an Indian source that gave away inside news regarding the movie, the film is expected to go on floors this June. “Rumours are buzzing that the film has been shelved because Shashanka (writer director Shashanka Ghosh, who also directed Khoobsurat) couldn’t crack the script. But that’s far from the truth. The screenplay has been locked. It showcases an interesting conflict between two diametrically opposite characters.”
