Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had threatened to beat up Pakistani actors if they didn’t leave India by September 25.

According to Times of India, Fawad, who is looking forward to the release of his next – Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,’ has flown to Pakistan. Fawad was on the top of the list of Pakistani actors, who were issued threats to leave India.

Karan Johar, in a statement given earlier, had already made it clear that Fawad won’t be part of the film’s promotions.

The film workers association of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Friday had set a 48-hour deadline for all Pakistani artists working currently in India to leave the country amid rising tension between the nuclear-armed neighbouring countries.

“We gave a 48-hour deadline to Pakistani actors and artists to leave India or MNS will push them out,” said Amey Khopkar of the MNS Chitrapat Sena.

Amey Khopkar even threatened to beat up Pakistani artists and all those who cast them in their Indian productions.

“Pakistani artists will be beaten up and so will the producers and directors,” he added.

Pakistani artists including noted gazal singer Ghulam Ali, have a history of being threatened in India by varying conservative groups, mainly political.

In the past, Shiv Sena had also forced Ghulam Ali to cancel his performance in Mumbai. They also threatened to launch a stir against a cricket match between India and Pakistan during the T20 World Cup.
